    Consultancy

    From inclusivity to international development

I provide consultancy and project management for the development of picture books and non-fiction titles to ensure representations of class, familial structure, language, ethnicity, religion, disability, age, sexuality, culture, and gender are as diverse as the world around us.

I have been a member of IBBY UK’s committee since 2014 and was elected to IBBY International’s Executive Committee in 2018. A worldwide organisation, IBBY represents a network of over 80 national sections and my work includes international project coordination to promote children’s rights through children’s literature.

I work with international publishers to develop titles for UK and North American audiences.

From concept development through to final delivery

From concept development through to final delivery, I work with experienced designers to produce books to the highest standard. I specialise in children’s non-fiction and picture books working with authors and illustrators from around the world.

For any new title or series, I work closely with publishers to develop project concepts, and have a wide range of contacts to commission new authors or illustrators, if required. I develop a close working relationship with authors to develop their manuscript and brief illustrators supporting their development from storyboards to print-ready publications. I am able to provide a critical but creative eye to work alongside publishers to develop their list.

    Back list and international markets
I can refresh a backlist working with existing titles to ensure they speak to new audiences. I also work with international publishers providing consultancy and editorial advice on adapting books for UK and North American audiences.
